It's been a long week guys, like the longest of weeks. When life gets this hectic it's so important that I make sure that my mental health comes first. Taking that extra time to check in with yourself will always do a world of good. Here's a li'l list of my go to things during a time like this:
treat yo' self
as materialistic as it sounds, buying myself something special that I wouldn't normally get. Gives me the warm n fuzzies. This week buying a nice wine and a bath bomb from lush was my need.
eat healthy
as I write this I am cooking up a mean lentil and vegetable soup and I'm so excited for it. Making sure you put lots of lovely and nutritious food into our body will (hopefully) help prevent the body crash at the end of the week. That's not to say I haven't had my fair share of comfort food this week...
immerse yourself in something else
the perfect escape or distraction from reality is to soak up some tv or read a book, or like me, binge watch youtube videos until your eyes hurt. My go-to's when I'm feeling run down and want something comforting are Melanie Murphy (she's lovely) and also Jack Maynard is great when you need a laugh.
talk it out
venting is always a relief, getting things out helps you to process everything and stops you from accidentally exploding at someone further down the line. Fortunately for me I am surround by supportive people, and hopefully your the same. And if you're not, write it down! Journaling can be just as therapeutic.
stay active/ go outside
as wonderful as blissing out on the couch is, going outside and getting some fresh air in your system is so necessary. I'm always blown away by how much of a difference just going for a walk outside can make to my mood. Just the change of scenery itself can be refreshing
hopefully these tips were a bit helpful!
